fire detection in tunnels header

 fire detection
Aim:
Monitoring the temperature continuously along an entire tunnel in order to detect a fire and emit alarms.

Technologies: Distributed Temperature Sensor

Description: Description: Safety systems in modern transportation infrastructures require highly reliable and extremely fast heat detection systems. Among the several applications requiring such fire detection systems with a continuous measurement capability over long distances, the most relevant ones are fire alarms in railways and highways tunnels.
A Distributed Temperature Sensor (DTS) can be an extremely robust and reliable system, especially if operating in loop configuration, and compliant to the European Standard EN54-22 for Resettable Line Heat Detectors. The fiber optic cable is specifically designed for fire detection in harsh environments and also compliant with low-smoke-zero-halogen specifications (LSZH).
The DTS can be integrated with customer communication networks, in order to provide automatic activation of supervisor and protective systems, based on specific information on the different zones under monitoring. In each zone, several typologies and specific threshold values can be defined in order to quickly detect fire without false alarms, e.g. maximum temperature values, spatial and temporal temperature gradients can be defined in each zone to provide key information on the affected area.

Company

INFIBRA TECHNOLOGIES Srl is engaged in designing and manufacturing of next-generation fiber optic sensors systems, while also offering engineering services. Energy, Oil & Gas, Transportation and Civil Engineering are our target markets, with solutions even suitable for harsh environments. Monitoring of temperature, vibration, deformation, or other chemical-physical parameters through a single optical fiber are our typical applications and FBGs, Raman, Brillouin and Rayleigh are our technologies.
